Shady in Leipzig

Just delicious!

Definitely NOT recommended. 1. over-priced. 2. I was very surprised and disgusted that when I reported some sand in the leaves, the chef immediately tried to find the sand from the food that was spit out in front of us. Of course, his conclusion is that there is no sand, just a sesame, even not an apology. . . Sorry, can't I tell the difference between sesame and sand? 3. Didn’t even deserve one star. (If I were this guy/chef, I would spend more time to prepare better foods, instead of sneaking in the online comment section) (Shrimps were on the top, of course eat them firstly! What bothered us all was your behavior. And now you replied online, still without apology. Disappointed!)

Some time ago I was with friends at the Shady and I had fond memories of it! The boss has a special, but in my opinion, nice, funny manner ... The humor is not for everyone, but you don't have to get along with everyone! ;) Even during Corona you have to see where you can get delicious food! So I was happy that you can order something to take away! We weren't disappointed! The takeaway, like the last time in the restaurant, was perfect. The anchovies are always a dream! The lamb ragout is slightly spicy, but within a tolerable range! The prawns on skewers are also very tasty and very well seasoned, but I found the price for this dish a bit intense. In terms of taste, it convinced me so much that I would take it again! I will definitely get something to eat there again very soon! Or go out to eat, if this is - hopefully soon - possible again! Hard !! ;) :)

Have wanted to go there for a while. Well, while Lockdown light was ordered for the first time and definitely not the last time. Mega yummy!

Was there a long time ago. It tends to be expensive and a disaster for the owner if he is caught on the wrong foot. Can get very rude and arrogant. Wouldn't go there again.

Food is delicious and I like to order something from time to time. Unfortunately we received an unfriendly welcome again today when we were there. Has happened to me twice when we came without a reservation and were only smiled at, although all the tables were still free at the time. We could have sat down at the bar, but that was only half-heartedly recommended to us. I'm happy for the host, but I would rather save myself the unfriendly treatment of the guests next time and order if at all.

We had a really delicious breakfast today ..and would love to come back ... Then in any case all 9 .. thanks for the delicious things .. was awesome ... you have to try it.

We were served very nice and humorous and the food was truly a poem / absolutely great. Unreserved recommendation.

The food is unique! I haven't eaten anything that corresponds to this level for a long time. All of our dishes were great, tasted exceptionally good, and were very attractively presented. There are certain components and spices in every dish that create a taste that is fabulous. Every special request (e.g. exchange of certain side dishes) was fulfilled. Both meat lovers and vegetarians experience a very special cuisine! The service is welcoming, warm and attentive. Very professional! We would love to come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to eat really well in Leipzig and is still looking for uncomplicated, relaxed, authentic and humorous service! It was a very nice evening .. both the food and the service were very individual .. Shady takes care of his guests personally, very personally and friendly .. the food, the individual unusual combinations, the homemade sauces, everything was very tasty .. priced at a higher level but the ratio fits and I will always be happy to go there. highly recommended .. ?

Good restaurant. I would say 4.5 stars. The atmosphere is good, the wait staff is a bit pushy and fake. He was always alone, so everything was without a break and not so easy. The food is very tasty though. Prices not cheap but reasonable. Drinks good but expensive.

I was there for the first time yesterday and it was definitely not the last time! Not only did the food and drinks taste fantastic, the service was also outstanding. Always attentive and friendly and a great level of communication (which is unfortunately no longer common these days). It was just to feel good!

Full five stars. ? We are in Leipzig for a short break and after an eventful day, we wanted to end the evening with a great meal. Aunt Google consulted and it prompted Shady. Spontaneously and despite a complete reservation, the boss made it possible for us to take a seat here. Thanks for that. The boss is a super eloquent host, the food is absolutely authentic and delicious. Should we be in Leipzig again, the way will lead us back here. Thank you for the hospitality !!!

We decided to stop in Leipzig on our way from Berlin back to Nuremberg (home for now). We were walking the neighbourhood - which I highly recommend too - and red about this place. WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE! The food is fresh and very carefully prepared, the service is great and the owner is extremely welcoming. Great place for families and kids too.

My dear, your menu for Mother's Day was a stunner as always. Even the smell from the car to my mother's apartment was a challenge for the mind, nose and hungry innards. Thanks also from the motherly origin of creation! Stefan S.

This restaurant is really recommended to anyone who appreciates good cuisine. Every single dish that I have eaten here so far has an excellent and full-bodied taste. They really cook themselves there and you can taste the love and passion of the cook in the dishes. The owner is a very talkative, happy and warm guy who cares about his guests. For me it is always an absolute pleasure evening to indulge in culinary delights there over a cozy time. I'll be back, that's for sure!

A unique experience, an elegant and tidy restaurant, from the waiter’s elegance to the way he serves food. Unfortunately, I discovered the restaurant on the last day of my stay in the city, but after sure experience, I will visit it again and again on the next visit. We Arabs need an heck of people who are able to display an image of authentic Arabic food and distance European ideas from the stereotype of the "cheap" Arab restaurant that does not leave the shawarma skewer and tries to provide food in the cheapest possible way in order to attract the largest possible segment of customers.

It's the best Lebanese food I had in Germany, same for my German friend ... and we've been in quite a lot of Lebanese restaurants before... really so f.... delicious - good quality, friendly and warm hearted staff ..... for this quality very fair prices

Great falafel!

Being of Lebanese descent myself, I'm quite fussy when it comes to Middle Eastern restaurants in general. However, without fail, Shady consistently serves-up delicious, authentic and freshly prepared halal food with uncompromising standards and attention to detail. It had been several months since my last visit and I was reminded of what a joy it is to dine in his cherished Nazareth establishment and interact with the fellow. All of his dishes are prepared with finesse and flare but I would recommend his signature dish the Fetat-el Batanjan in particular for its sheer richness and uniqueness of flavour. It simply is as good as it looks! The Shish Tawouk is also a favourite and keep an eye out for the Kharoof Mishwe if you are seeking the finest cuts of lamb grilled to perfection with an original take on Fattoush as a side salad. The vegetarian options are also excellent as is typically the case with Middle Eastern cuisine. Shady's has a wonderfully warm atmosphere that always makes for a special night out amongst friends or if you want to really treat the significant other in your life. You would be hard-pressed to find a restaurant quite like this anywhere in Europe or in Lebanon for that matter.
